Tokyo Midtown Design Hub 47th Exhibition

Books, Words, Designs

BASIC INFORMATION

Welcoming the book director Yoshitaka Haba as its general director, the exhibition “Books, Words, Designs” was organized in an attempt to “richly convey the messages of books and words within.” We have asked 10 frontrunners in various fields such as writing, architecture, and design to name the books that strike them as being the epitome of “design” and the most impressive words in them.
The selected books are displayed at the exhibition gallery and the chosen words are presented in the form of spatial installation, inviting the visitors to feel the intangible words in the form of visual expression, to pick up the subtlety of the subtext and to experience the sense of tension around the words.
We hope that the words, carefully selected by the individuals with unique passion, will inspire and give new impetus to the visitors and that the diversity of the books selected on the theme of design and depth and expanse of the act of design will bring them a pleasant surprise.
