Lecture「Alphabet Soup (T,R,i,C)」 by TRiC from Melbourne, Australia

TRiC is a multidisciplinary Melbourne graphic design studio founded by Tristan Ceddia and Rick Milovanovic in 2020. TRiC will present their inaugural international lecture Alphabet Soup (T,R,i,C) which will take a deep dive into the diverse mix of past lives, communities, subcultures, and unique thinking that attribute to the varied nature of the studio’s philosophy and practice. In 2022 TRiC initiated a poster project that included contributions from a distinct mix of individuals within the TRiC network (children, friends, mentors, heroes, ex-students and so on). Each individual was tasked with producing a graphic representation of single letter; T, R, i, C and the collection of letterforms was then edited and developed into screenprinted edition. A second run of promotional (offset printed) posters were produced in three colourways and distributed to promote the studio. This lecture, Alphabet Soup (T,R,i,C), uses the poster format as a catalyst to frame and deliver case studies that demonstrate the varied pathways TRiC takes towards design outcomes.
