Tokyo Midtown Design Hub 58th Exhibition
Living & Interior Design – the style of the designers

Celebrating Japan’s first-ever World Interior Week, Tokyo Midtown Design Hub will hold “Life Design Exhibition” from Monday, May 23 to Sunday, May 29.

Our everyday living space is made up of items with stories ― stories based on the designers’ and producers’ wishes and expectations for better life. In this exhibition, we will introduce products along with the “Ways of the Designers,” the manufacturing concepts of the designers and producers. Find the rich living space which bring forth rich conversations and feel the wisdom (Intelligence) of the interior design.

About World Interior Week
World Interior Week (WIW) is inspired by “WORLD INTERIORS DAY,” the annual event spearheaded by The International Federation of Interior Architects/ Designers (IFI) to reflect on the roles of interior design on the last Saturday in May. This year, Japan will hold its own version of the first national week-long event.

Japan has become an affluent country after its postwar recovery and rapid economic growth. Houses overflowed with items bought in pursuit of abundance. It seems that we have not paid enough attention to the spatial design in our daily living. The time has come for us to reflect on the importance of everyday life. The furniture, illumination and interior decoration which bring about the true richness in daily space are filled with the designers’ wisdom (Intelligence).

The theme of WORLD INTERIORS DAY this year, as it happens, is “INTERIORS INTELLIGENCE.” Enjoy the exhibitions and events here at Tokyo Midtown Design Hub and nationwide WIW events hosted by like-minded organizers. We hope that you take this opportunity to reflect on the everyday life which is close to your heart and find the next step for greater living.
