Thank You for These 10 Years “Watashi no Machiomoi-cho”

In 2011, when the earthquake hit East Japan, “Watashi no Machiomoi-cho (The Booklet in Which I Wrote My Feelings for My Hometown)” was born as a booklet full of the creator’s attachement to her hometown.  
For this exhibition, professional creators all over Japan have been creating their booklets or video works on their imporatnt towns: their hometown, towns where they spent their school days, and towns where they live now.  
A lot of people gathered, talked, laughed, and sometimes shed tears at exhibition halls, local galleries, libraries, and tiny bookstores.  
Now we have made more than 2,000 works and we have connected with one another.  
At this exhibition, you’ll see how sincerely people live in towns you can’t find in guidebooks or towns you haven’t noticed.
